About Me
Who Am I?
Hi I'm Mitali Gupta, a passionate software engineer with a strong foundation in full-stack development and a commitment to leveraging technology for meaningful impact. Describing myself as curious, kind, and competent, I thrive on exploring new challenges and innovating solutions that bridge technology with real-world applications. My drive for research and continuous learning fuels my ambition to pursue a Master’s degree, where I aim to delve into cutting-edge research, solve complex problems, and contribute to both academic and professional advancements.
One of my core values is the belief in the transformative power of STEM and the necessity of fostering diversity within this field. I recognize that women often face societal and systemic barriers when pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. In India, the traditional mindset that favors perfection over risk-taking and the lack of female role models in STEM contribute to the underrepresentation of women in these fields. As I reflect on these challenges, I am reminded of the poignant observation: “Whoever said that the reason women don’t get into STEM is because they are not interested in STEM subjects, has never been a woman trying to get into STEM.” My goal is to challenge these norms and advocate for greater female participation in STEM.
Through my role as a Student Coordinator for the Women in Research and IT (WRIT) community, I have worked to create a supportive space for women to share experiences, celebrate achievements, and encourage each other’s growth. WRIT was established to empower women by fostering an environment of learning and mutual support, and I have seen firsthand how such communities can drive positive change.
My dedication extends beyond personal achievements to broader societal impact. I am committed to working with organizations that prioritize sustainability and social betterment. My career trajectory is not just about personal success but about creating opportunities for others, especially women, and addressing gender disparities in the tech industry.
I believe that by advancing my education and continuing to engage with projects that align with my values, I can contribute significantly to a more inclusive and equitable world. My experiences have taught me to view challenges as opportunities, and I am determined to use my skills and resources to support and uplift others.
